ATEX CERTIFIED DIRS-422/485 Separator

DIRS-422485DESCRIPTION:
The DIRS-422/485 bus separator enables communication with, and control of devices installed in explosion hazard zones, compliant with RS-422/RS-485 standards. The primary function is to isolate the network installed in explosion hazard zones from the non-intrinsically safe system. The DIRS-422/485 separator allows connection of a non-intrinsically safe RS-232 bus via a DB9 connector, and RS-422 or RS-485 buses via screw terminals. On the intrinsically safe side, screw terminals are used to connect devices operating with RS-422 or RS-485 buses in hazardous areas with combustible dust or flammable gases. The DIRS-422/485 bus separator in Ex-certified design has been designed and manufactured to ensure reliable operation of automated equipment certified for use in explosion hazard zones.

PRODUCT FEATURES:
– non-intrinsically safe DB9 input port (for RS-232 communication standard);
– intrinsically safe output port with screw terminals for wires with a cross-section of up to 2,5 mm²;
– data transmission rate adjustable by hardware or
software from 1,2 kbit/s to 1,2 Mbit/s
– suitable for use with equipment in Zones 0, 1, 2, 20, 21,
22 and mining equipment;
– compact size;
– 35 mm DIN rail mounting;
– installation outside explosion hazard zones or in Ex d
flameproof or Ex t protective enclosure;
– hardware-switchable connection impedance;
– LED indicator for operating parameters;
– communication range of up to 1200 m at a data transmission rate of up to 93,75 kbit/s

APPLICATION AREAS:
– intrinsically safe isolation of RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 bus circuits from intrinsically safe circuits operating in explosion hazard zones;
– communication with Ex-certified devices using the RS-422/RS-485 interface.
